Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This policy covers The DNA Movement app (“the app”) and the two forms on our website that the app links to: the email sign-up form and the Share Your Story form. The app is published by Disabled Adventures LLC for Dependent, Not Addicted (The DNA Movement).
The short version
- The app does not collect, store, or share any personal information.
- There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking or analytics.
- Your settings stay on your phone.
- If you choose to fill out a form on our website, the information you enter is handled as explained below (by MailerLite for email sign-ups, and by Netlify, our website host, for stories).
What the app does
- No accounts. You never sign up, sign in, or create a password.
- No ads. The app shows no advertising and uses no advertising identifiers.
- No tracking. The app has no analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting tools. We do not know who uses the app or how.
- No access to your personal data. The app does not ask for or use your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health data.
- Content is built in. The guides, stories, and other content are part of the app. The app does not send information about you to us or anyone else.
- No internet use on its own. The app does not download anything by itself — no images, video thumbnails, fonts, or updates. It only goes online when you tap a link that opens another app or website.
Settings saved on your phone
The app remembers your appearance choice (Match Phone, Light, or Dark), text size, high contrast setting, and whether you have already seen the opening animation. These are saved only on your phone. They are never sent to us or anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.
The “Copy” button on the park pass page places text on your phone’s clipboard. The app does not read your clipboard.
Links that open outside the app
Some buttons open other apps or websites, such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, our shop (run by Printify), our website, government websites, and partner organizations. Once you leave the app, that app or website’s own privacy policy applies.
Call and text buttons (for example, for 988) open your phone or messages app. The app does not see, record, or store your calls or texts.
Forms on our website
These forms are on our website. The app links to them, but they are not part of the app. You only share information if you choose to fill them out.
Join the Movement (email sign-up, at dependentnotaddicted.org/join). If you sign up, your email address is sent to MailerLite, the service we use to send our emails. MailerLite also records basic details about the sign-up, such as the date and the IP address it came from. We use your email only to send you stories, action alerts, and updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We never sell or share your email. You can read MailerLite’s privacy policy.
Share Your Story (at dependentnotaddicted.org/share). Stories are submitted through a form on our website. What you enter — your story and, if you choose, a name, your state, and your email — is stored by Netlify, our website host, and emailed to us. Netlify checks each submission for spam using a service called Akismet. Every story is reviewed by a real person before anything is posted. Your email is never shared or posted. You can ask us to change or remove your story at any time. You can read the privacy policies of Netlify and Akismet (Automattic).
Our website
Our website is hosted by Netlify and uses Google Fonts. Like most websites, these services may receive basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, when a page loads. We do not use advertising or tracking tools on our website. You can read the privacy policies of Netlify and Google.
App stores
When you download the app, Apple or Google may collect information under their own privacy policies. We do not receive personal information about you from them.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13. The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
